Austin Miller Co-op Hero Award at River Valley Market

“River Valley Co-op's Board of Directors selected both New Village and Nonotuck Community School to be awarded one of our Austin Miller Co-op Hero Awards this year. The awards will be presented at our upcoming Strawberry Ice Cream Social event on Thursday, June 15th, at our Easthampton Store from 5-8 pm. The awards ceremony is at 6 pm.
River Valley Co-op doesn't take our vibrant co-op community for granted. We understand that it takes individuals and organizations committed to building a better future, supporting a wide diversity of community needs, championing a sustainable environment, growing our robust food system, and locally based economic strength.
The Austin Miller awards are one way River Valley Co-op celebrates our appreciation of our local partners. These annual awards recognize people and organizations that nurture and sustain our co-op and community. Created in 2009 by our Board of Directors, the Austin Miller Co-op Hero Awards recognize: 1) an individual, 2) a nonprofit organization, 3) a business, and 4) a farm or food business. Those selected embodied the cooperative principle of concern for the community and have supported River Valley Co-op and our mission to create a just marketplace that nourishes the community. This year we selected two local non-profits instead of just one, both are engaged in providing childcare in our community.”
